Coach Jamie Keiser

Coaches Notes:
This is a new season and a new beginning for the Fort Vancouver Swim program.  I am very excited to be a part of this team and am looking forward to the seasons ahead.  It is my goal that sports enhance the individual both physically and mentally in school and in life.  My goal as a coach is to help each athlete to see his/her potential.  Sports do not build character.... they reveal it.
I come to the program with three years of swim coaching experience as the assistant girls' coach at Hudson's Bay high school, four years as the head Girls' coach at Fort Vancouver, five years for the Boys' team,  and I have five years of collegiate and junior level coaching in the sport of rowing.  Currently I am a member of USMS and the master's swim team - Oregon Wet.  My profession is as a teacher of photography and yearbook at Hudson's Bay high school. It is my goal to build a strong program that promotes the athlete and student.  All levels of ability are welcome and I would appreciate any support and feedback.

Being your best is not so much about overcoming the barriers other people place in front of you as it is about overcoming the barriers we place in front of ourselves. It has nothing to do with how many times you win or lose. It has no relation to where you finish in a race or whether you break world records. But it does have everything to do with having the vision to dream, the courage to recover from adversity and the determination never to be shifted from your goals
- Kieren Perkins [AUS]

I wouldn't say anything is impossible. I think that everything is possible as long as you put your mind to it and put the work and time into it
